Ever get into a mindset that you think something's has to change before it's going to get better. Think about the statement that says "We're crazy if we think we can do the same thing the same way and expect different results". I've really never been a part of the group that said "don't change stuff", in fact I like change as long as it's done with a clear objective. The problem with me is I guess I'm slow to see why we need to make radical changes at times, and it's hard to change some things that are rooted deep in our Christian DNA.
So what is this telling us? I am becoming more convinced every day that we are in a war for souls and that our Status quot church mentality is going to have to change if we are going to have the effect on our world that God desires. Are we really concerned for the lost or are we still doing church the same way and wondering why it's not as fulfilling as we think it should be.
I want to be the pastor who leads his people into the world, creating opportunities for us to fulfill the "Great Commission", my goal is to see our church become a place that sees real authentic life changes and we make disciples that will put God 1st in their lives. How do we do this, I'm not sure yet, I'm Praying, seeking wise counsel and will begin to journal what God shows me and someday I may share those thoughts. As for now, what about you? Do you agree, disagree or do you need more time to mull it over?
Have a great day, seek to do something great for God!

Lessons from the movies
This has been a great week! I went and saw a movie Monday with the family - as I was watching I began to contemplate some of the ideas that the movie was exploring and as i thought about it I began to see how our culture dictates our behaviors and beliefs if we are not careful. And then i also started to see how some of the thoughts and titles of movies can give us a unique platform at times, so I began to put together a sermon series that will begin this week, It's called "Back to the Future", the premise for the first week is that when we go back to some of our past ways and backslide, we are always able to go back to our life with a future if we will just run back to God.
One more note, last week we ended our service reading Haggai 1:1-9, read it some time and take the warning to heart, "Give careful thought to your ways", it's a great reminder as we live in a very busy world to make sure our priorities are in the right place.

Starting Over
Well after being so bad at updating my blog, I decided to start over! Sound familiar? It seems I have great intentions at times but life gets in the way. I'm sure you can relate. But as I begin again do me a favor, tell me what's going on with you and maybe through our "Iron sharpening Iron" discussions we can help each other and maybe even help someone we have never met. I want to see everything we do have a real purpose.
I'll blog about once a week (really) and i'll keep you up with the great things that God is doing for and through me.
